Course Description:
Academy of Career Training offers training in the nationally recognised unit of competency RIIWHS202E – Enter and work in confined spaces. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely enter, work in and exit confined spaces while following workplace procedures and relevant safety requirements.

Course Overview:
This course covers the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely undertake work in confined spaces, including:

Identifying confined spaces and associated hazards.

Understanding confined space permits and workplace procedures.

Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate risk controls.

Conducting pre-entry checks and preparing for confined space entry.
-
Using appropriate personal protective equipment and safety equipment.

Entering, working in and exiting a confined space safely.

Monitoring conditions and maintaining communication while work is undertaken.

Understanding emergency and incident response procedures.

Participants must successfully complete the required theory and practical assessment components to demonstrate competency.

Enrolment Requirements:
To enrol in this course, participants must:

Have sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills to understand safety instructions, procedures and assessment requirements.

Be physically capable of safely participating in confined space practical activities.

Wear suitable clothing and enclosed footwear for practical training.

Provide any required identification and enrolment information prior to training.

MSMPER200 - Work in accordance with an issued permit

MSMWHS217 - Gas test atmospheres
Certification will be issued once the participant has:

Successfully completed all required theory and practical assessment tasks.

Demonstrated the required skills and knowledge to the required standard.

Provided all required enrolment and supporting documentation.
-
Paid all applicable course fees in full.
Certification will be issued in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and applicable Standards for RTOs.
