Academy of Career Training offers an online course covering the nationally accredited unit of competency TLIF0009 – Ensure the Safety of Transport Activities (Chain of Responsibility). This course is designed for individuals working in the transport, logistics and warehousing industries who are required to understand and apply their Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or applicable state/territory law and regulations.

Course Overview:

 

This course covers the essential principles and practices related to Chain of Responsibility (CoR) under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or applicable state/territory law and regulations. The course is delivered entirely online, offering flexibility and convenience while ensuring participants develop knowledge and skills in:

  • Current HVNL legislation, state/territory laws and industry standards relating to transport activities.

  • Chain of responsibility obligations, shared responsibility principles and primary duty requirements.

  • Identification, assessment and control of transport activity risks, including speed, fatigue, mass limits, dimensions, load restraint and vehicle standards.

  • Reporting and documentation requirements for transport activity risks and hazards.

  • Responsibilities across all parties in the chain of responsibility and the consequences of non-compliance.

Online Learning – Self Paced. However, the course should ideally be completed within 30 days.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify transport activities and parties in the chain of responsibility as defined by the HVNL or applicable state/territory law.

  • Understand the principle of shared responsibility and primary duty obligations.

  • Apply chain of responsibility obligations relevant to their own job function.

  • Manage speed, fatigue, vehicle dimensions, mass limits, load restraint and vehicle safety standards.

  • Identify, assess and control risks associated with transport activities.

  • Complete and process workplace documents relating to chain of responsibility.

  • Report transport activity risks in accordance with workplace policies and procedures.
